Deidre Brock MP launched Granton’s Climate Change Project on 30th June, Juliet Wilson, Climate Change Officer, and Rev Norman Smith look on.

Our Granton Goes Greener project successfully launched on Saturday 30 June. Many thanks to all of you who helped to make this a successful event. We were pleased with the turnout and people who came along enjoyed participating in the many activities including children’s crafts, making miniature gardens and face painting.

We’d like to thank Eco-Congregations, Pilton Health Project, the Boys Brigade, Grease Monkeys, Deirdre Brock, MP and the poets and story tellers who helped to make the event so popular.

Volunteer with Granton Goes Greener

We’re delighted that already several people have expressed interest in training up as volunteer cycle ride leaders! We still have space for one or two people to sign up before we organise the training session with Cycling Scotland. So, if you’re a keen cyclist and interested in helping others explore the area by bike, please let Juliet or Catriona know.

We also have other volunteering opportunities, including staffing the clothing swap shop, picking up bakery products to distribute locally or serving teas and coffees at events. To find out more contact Juliet on 0131 552 3033 or email juliet@grantongoesgreener.org.uk.

We were delighted to be able to provide free bike maintenance carried out by our partners Greasmonkeys
