It’s Volunteers Week Scotland, the ideal time to start volunteering to help Granton Goes Greener!
We have three roles:
Cycle Ride Leaders
Are you a confident cyclist with good communications skills? This is an ideal opportunity for you to help local people improve their cycling skills while getting to know other people and exploring the local cycle routes.
Swap Shop Assistants
Do you love clothes and enjoy chatting? Would you like to staff the swap shop on Tuesday evenings (or another time)? You would need to weigh clothes and record what comes in and goes out. Pop into the church to sign up for a taster session!
Do you have your own car and some spare time? We’re looking for people to collect bakery donations from local businesses and distribute them to the local primary school and to local residents.
More information, including application forms and role descriptions, are on the website, or contact Juliet on 0131 552 3033 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Climate Challenge Project launches with event on Saturday 30 June
Granton Goes Greener is to launch with an event at the church on 30 June.
The event will be opened at 12 noon by Deirdre Brock, MP and will continue until 3pm. There’s a whole array of activities, including children’s crafts, poetry readings, a guided walk, bicycle maintenance sessions and a chance to make a miniature garden! The clothing swap shop will be open and there will be refreshments including homemade soup.
Come along to find out more about going greener in Granton!
