Cycle Rides

Do you want to get to know the local quiet routes for cyclists? Do you want to improve your skills and confidence as a cyclist?

Why not join one of our guided cycle rides?

Our team of trained cycle leaders will be offering a series of guided cycle rides over the next few months. Possible routes include cycling the parish boundaries (which closely align with the cycle paths) and cycling to Cramond. Our first ride took people from the church to the Festival of Walking and Cycling in Inverleith Park on 2 September.

We hope the second ride will take place on the afternoon of 23 September, keep an eye out here and on social media for updates about this!

Cycling is cheaper and healthier than using the car or public transport, more flexible than public transport and quicker than walking. It can save you money and help you get fitter as well as helping to save the planet! All great reasons to take part in one of our cycle rides.

Top Tip: If health and mobility allow, leave the car at home for short trips and walk or cycle.

Clothing Swap Shop

Thanks to everyone who has generously donated clothing to our swap shop! We now have a wide range of clothing for men, women and children on the rails and lots more in the storage. Now the weather is getting cooler, we have put out more warmer clothing for you to browse! So far 330kg of clothing has been donated, which means we’re well on track for meeting the targets given to us by our funders the Climate Challenge Fund. Don’t just donate your clothes though, come along and see if you can find your next favourite outfit on our rails!

10-20,000 litres of water are needed to produce 1kg of cotton! Think, when you no longer want an item of clothing, can you donate or re-purpose it to prevent it ending up in landfill?

Top Tip: need a new outfit? Why not browse our swap shop rather than buying new?
