Waverley Care are looking for volunteers over the Festival period in August.
Waverley Care is Scotland’s HIV and Hepatitis C charity and over the Fringe is one of their busiest and most important fundraising periods. This year they are celebrating their 25th year as the official partner charity to Pleasance.
Every day during August, Waverley Care have volunteers at Pleasance who bucket shake after shows and yearly we make about £30,000 which goes towards their services to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with HIV or Hepatitis C.
The shifts run from 14:00 – 18:00 then 18:00 – 22:00 and there’s a bonus! The Charity have passes to the Pleasance so volunteers can go to any shows that have not sold-out for free after a shift of bucket shaking!
It can be a really great fun bit of volunteering in the sun-soaked courtyard in August and it is a great opportunity to meet new people and be in the buzz of one of the busiest venues of the Fringe.
Karen Docwra has very close connections through fundraising for Waverley Care, so if you’d like more information just have a word with her.
It can be a nice thing to do as a group and then enjoy a drink or a show in the venue afterwards.
