Christmas at Granton – no gimmicks, no gloss!

Every year we choose a theme through which to read the Christmas story.Whilst this roots the story in our culture the links have sometimes been a bit tenuous. Rather than manufacture anything this year, we are going to let the story stand on its own.Over Advent and throughout Christmas we are going to retell the story and let the power of what God did speak clearly to us.No gimmicks, no glitter or gloss, just the power of a story that changed the world. A mince pie or six?

Our Christmas Tree Lighting event is on Sunday 2nd December and we are planning to serve up mulled wine and mulled juice with traditional Christmas Mince Pies. Want to get involved? We're looking for donations of mince pies to serve up. If you're a dab-hand at baking, that's great. If not, a box or 2 of shop-bought pies would go down well. Leave them in the coffee area at the back of the church (check the use use-by date of course!).
