At Granton we believe that children are valued individuals, and that families are a central part of the church and the community. We run a range of events that seek to support families in the community and offer safe spaces for children to have fun and grow in their faith.

Family Worship – Sunday 13th June at 2.30pm

A fun and socially distanced event for families based around stories that Jesus told. Join us as we learn the stories that Jesus told though storytelling, crafts, and music. Each family will have their own socially distanced space where they can learn and interact together. The event is free and tickets are not required, however registering online will help us know how many spaces to prepare and also save time on registration for track and trace. To keep the event safe we will observe 2m distancing between households and ask adults to wear masks when inside the Church building ...

Family Film Nights: monthly on Fridays in darker months

During the winter months, when the nights are darker, we run monthly family film nights. These take place in the main church, and films are shown on the big screen. Film Nights are open to all, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult over 18. We really encourage families to come out to this together - a family trip to the movies could cost over £20 so this free event is a great way of getting a family night out on a budget, and meeting other families. [ai1ec tag_name="familyfilm" view="agenda" events_limit="3"] We want to ensure that everyone ...

Including children in the services

At Granton we have members of our Church of all different ages, and we believe in valuing everyone. We've been thinking about how we include our children more in the services, so that rather than spending most of our Sunday separated, children and adults have the chance to worship together as one family. To do this for the next few weeks, rather than leaving the service, the children will have a space at the back of the church they can go to where there will be activities and toys for them. It will be supervised by a volunteer, but we ...

Children’s Activities during the Service

Some folk will remember the news last month that we were planning to change the way that we provide activities for children during the service - read more here. The changes start from this week, 11th February. The Bible reading will now happen before the Kids' Talk, so that the young people  can hear what the grown ups are going to be hearing about in the sermon. Then they will leave for their own activities after their hymn and come back into church after the sermon and chat.. What activities are there? For pre-school children there will still be creche - just ...

Boys’ Brigade : Wednesdays from 6.30pm

Each week The Boys' Brigade works with thousands of young people, many of whom have no other connection with the Church. Today we are working with over 60,000 children & young people in over 1500 companies (groups) in the UK & Republic of Ireland every week. The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. These resources have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way. We hope through these programmes they will be able to make a positive contribution to a young ...
