With Norman taking up his new post as Presbytery Clerk to the new Presbytery of Lothian and the Borders next month, this Sunday will be his final service with us. After 17 years, he is due to preach his last “Bible Speaks Today” on Sunday 25th September.
One of the things that has defined his time with us is food, and true to tradition we will mark his departure on Sunday with tea, coffee and cake after the service, to which all are invited.
There will also be another chance later in the year to fully celebrate his time with us, and more details will emerge in the coming weeks, but for now, make plans to be home a wee bit later from church this week and join in the final ‘coffee at the back’.
Norman doesn’t officially leave us until the middle of October, but is taking some well deserved holidays after this week. There will be some new faces at the front over the next few weeks and months as we invite other preachers to lead worship on the Sundays that David can’t be with us. We will also, in time, be assigned an ‘Interim Moderator’ to lead us through the period of vacancy. More details on this as we know them.
