Towards understanding and engaging with the diverse communities in Edinburgh

Wednesday 7th September, 7.00pm – 8.00pm on Zoom

An introduction to faith and culture for those engaging with the emerging communities in Edinburgh.

This training event aims to equip Christians in the City to understand the diverse communities  and how to build bridges of friendship and respect with the New Scots.

Edinburgh has become home for the new emerging communities; a place of welcome and belonging for those from Europe, South Asia, Syria, Sudan and so many other Nations. They have a vital role to play in shaping the future of this City and the spiritual landscape.

The session aims to cover:

  • What is the different between faith and culture?
  • Who are the diverse faith groups and what do they believe?
  • How do we build bridges with the New Scots?
  • How can our Churches be a place of welcome and belonging?

This informative and interactive session will be led by Pall Singh who have been involved in intercultural projects for over 25 years in the UK and a Trainer on a European project.

For those who want to go deeper, there will be a series of three further Zoom sessions on understanding the Hindu, Muslim and Sikh faith communities in the Autumn and new year.
