Dear Friends at Granton,

I hope that you are all well. It was my last Sunday with you on the 31st May 2020. It has not been the ending to my placement that anyone could have envisaged. I am sad that I can not say these things to you in person. I have learned a great deal from my time with you at Granton and from this time in lockdown. Seeing how the church has continued to gather online and serving the people of its community. The building is closed but the church is still open, we have been mobilised among the people.

Norman is a gifted teacher; David has been willing to help me try new things and Sarah has shared her experiences of ministry. You, the congregation, have welcomed me, shared your time, prayers, and wisdom with me. As I walk this journey training for ministry, I am grateful for all the people God blesses me with. My time at Granton and the things I have learned will help me as I move forward and find my place in ministry.

I will be starting my next church training placement on the 1st July 2020 at St Mark’s parish church in Stirling. This will be a full-time placement and I am looking forward to a new challenge. I will keep in touch with you and let you know how I am getting along with my training. I have passed 2nd year at university and will hopefully be starting back at university for 3rd year in September 2020.

Thank you for your gift, I am saving it for a time when I can spend it on a special treat. God bless you,

Kirsty Forsyth.
