The Finance Group reports on money matters for the first 6 months of the year. For more information, have a word with any of the Finance Group Alan, Ian, Dan or Norman.
In the first six months of 2019 the income that we received to pay for the day to day running of our Church was approximately £24,400.
Most of that (£16,100) came from the offerings that you give each week or month. The other main sources of ordinary income were Hall Lets (£4,100) and the contribution from the congregation organisations (£2,800).
The cost of running the church in the same period was £29,500, that is £5,100 more than we received.
Traditionally we get more income in the second half of the year than the first, so it is likely that this deficit will be reduced in the coming months, or even wiped out.
However, breaking even ignores that costs are continuing to rise and that we are already subsidised by the central offices of the Church of Scotland to the extent of approximately £50,000 per year.
