We are looking for caring and committed individuals interested in supporting older people who use our day centre.
Volunteers work alongside staff, to spend time sharing social contact and activities. This valuable contribution helps to ensure that individuals get the best possible opportunity to maintain their sense of self, interests and community involvement. Current opportunities include activities such as discussion groups, mobility exercises and support for people with dementia through Cognitive Stimulation Therapy groups.
Granton Day Centre would also welcome support to maintain the garden and keep it bright and enjoyable for people who use the service.
Opportunities are Monday-Friday for a full or half day per week and require a suggested minimum commitment of 6 months. Our application process involves a PVG check.
All volunteers will take part in an induction to volunteering, will receive ongoing support and will be encouraged to share their experience and ideas. By contributing time and enthusiasm, volunteers can learn new skills, form meaningful relationships, have fun and make a big difference to those who use our service.
