Granton Goes Greener – update on our eco-project

Bike repairing session and cycling tour.
We are on target with our cycling tours and bike repairing sessions. They have always been very successful with Police Scotland giving away free reflective bracelets and key chains to school children and talking about road safety on our last session. One more cycling tour and bike repairing session will be organised in February/March 2019. Keep checking our social media for updates.

Clothing Swap Shop and Volunteering
We have been receiving huge amount of donations. Only in the last 2 months we have received 717 kg of clothes and manage to reuse 284. We are always looking for more volunteers from the congregation to help us checking and arranging donated goods. Feel free to approach Anna and ask about volunteering with the Swap Shop.

Free sanitary products and Food for All shelf.
Since we started working with Fare Share, we have been supplying 40 women and girls with free sanitary products. Also donated food supplied by PCHP has been in high demand. If you ever have a spare can or pack of past you do not like, feel free to leave it on the shelf.

Christmas hampers.
Working with Pilton community Health Project (Memes and Joe) we have managed to secure and deliver 16 hampers to people in our congregation and North of Edinburgh. Huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers and drivers that were involved. It would not have happened without you.

Supporting Pilton Community Health Project.
We have been trying to show our support to PCHP and other local projects that were working with the most vulnerable people in the area and lost the funding. We have links to online petition on our website that you could sign or can ask Norman for sample letter/ petition that you could send to the council. We hope to keep all the great services in our area.
