Introducing our new Climate Change Officer

Hi, I’m Juliet, the new Climate Change Officer for the Granton Goes Greener Project, which is funded by the Climate Challenge Fund and the Scottish Government’s European Structural Funds department to help people in Granton to reduce their carbon footprint. This is a very practical project as it will help people to reduce carbon footprints while at the same time saving money and improving our health by cycling.

I have a horrible confession to make here, I’m really bad at riding a bike, so as well as fulfilling all the requirements of the job, I hope to learn to ride a bike properly in the next year!

I’m also an adult education tutor, teaching creative writing and leading guided nature walks around Edinburgh. I have also in the past worked with several charities including Soil Association, Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens and YWCA Scotland. I blog about all things nature and environment as the Crafty Green Poet, write poetry and short stories and enjoy making jewellery from upcycled materials.

I’m looking forward to meeting you all and helping Granton to Go Greener!
