I am very glad to inform everyone that Granton has been chosen to host a transition student starting for a year on March 22nd.

We are being joined by the Reverend Sarah Smith from Atlanta, USA.

Sarah is coming into the Church of Scotland as a minister and is coming from overseas. She is already fully trained and fully qualified, the purpose of the year is for Sarah to learn how we do things in the Church of Scotland.

Please remember her in your prayers.

Here, Sarah introduces herself.

Hi, my name is Sarah Smith.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, in the southeast part of the States.

I went to university at Presbyterian College from 2001-2005 and studied Christian Education.

I worked at preschools for seven years in different roles and with different age groups.

I went to seminary at Columbia Theological Seminary from 2013-2017 and received a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Art in Practical Theology focusing on Christian Education.

I was ordained as a Minister in the Presbyterian Church USA in August of 2017.

I served a congregation in Northern Ireland for two years as their Assistant Minister.

I look forward to meeting you and our time together over the next year.

Peace and Blessings,

Rev. Sarah Smith
