What would make a good community kitchen? Have your say after Church on Sunday 15th April
As most folk will know, we have plans to upgrade the church kitchen so that it becomes more fit purpose both now and in the future. In addition to Lunch Club, Coffee Mornings, Community Meals and Men’s Breakfast, we want to build plans to make it into a community resource.
This ties in with the Scottish Government’s Good Food Nation Bill – which is out for consultation just now.
We are holding a Kitchen Table Talk after Church on Sunday 15th April – so if you’d like to join in the chat please do come along. Soup and bread provided.
West Hall 12 noon on Sunday 15th April
A bit more about Nourish Scotland
The Scottish Government will soon begin a consultation on how Scotland can become a Good Food Nation ‘where people benefit from and take pride and pleasure in the food they produce, buy, serve and eat every day’.
Nourish Scotland is a campaigning organisation concerned with food justice issues in Scotland and in advance of the consultation is encouraging people across Scotland to carry out ‘Kitchen table Talks’ to tell them about the food issues that concern them and their communities most. This might be about the availability of food, how affordable it is, how nutritious and healthy it is and how food production impacts on the environment.
All comments and issues will be fed back to Nourish who will in turn feed them back to the Scottish Government.
