Norman used his last sermon to buoy us up and encourage us to continue to build God’s kingdom here in Granton, whilst always looking after one another.

Norman, who officially moves on to his new job in mid October, also said that he was very positive that the church here would continue to grow and do great work in the community, strengthened by our joining with Stockbridge and Inverleith St Serfs.

Watch Norman’s last service.

In a packed church on 25th September, the congregation gathered after the service to say goodbye to Norman, helped down, in true Granton fashion, by coffee and cake. To say “cake” is an understatement! Wilma Brown’s masterpiece depicted Norman playing golf on the grass in front of the church – in amazing detail!

There will be another chance to say goodbye to Norman and Pauline on Saturday 26th November – details to come, but meanwhile save the date.

Norman is leaving us in David’s capable hands – an “Interim Moderator” will be assigned next week.

If you missed the chance to a contribute to Norman’s leaving gift, you can do so either in an envelope marked “Norman” in the offering plate in Sunday, or by bank transfer – speak to Alan, our Treasurer for bank details – alan@granton.org.uk.
