New Year message from Norman

For each of us this past year will have been different. One of the things we have in common though is that 2018 brought change, We said goodbye to loved ones, we welcomed new lives into the world. At different times we had good and bad news. Whether you look back on 2018 as a good or bad year of course depends on your own personal circumstances. Another thing we hold in common is that we cannot go back and change anything; what has happened has happened.

It’s a good thing then that Christianity encourages us to look forward to what will be. What will 2019 bring? What will we do different? How long will our New Year’s resolutions last this year?

Yet another thing we hold in common is that whatever 2019 brings we will not face it alone. Keep this verse from Isaiah in your heart and remind yourself of it regularly. Hopefully it will encourage you as much as it has me over the years.

For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah Chapter 41 verse 13.

Happy New Year
