For hundreds of years Christians have spent time in nature as a way to pray and to reconnected with God. And we are no different, spending time outdoors can be a great way to slow down and reflect. Below are some resources that can help with that.
We produced these Walking Together cards last year as a way for us to pray outdoors wherever we are. Each card contains a Bible verse, a prompt, and a prayer. These were made during lockdown so several of the cards focus on praying about the impact and effects of the past two years.
They can be used anytime anywhere, so either download or print them and use them wherever you need
The inspiration for our cards came from a similar resource produced by the Church of Scotland. You can access them here.
Something to listen to
Do you prefer to listen to prayers rather than read them. Pray As You Go is a daily prayer session, designed to go with you wherever you go, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst travelling to and from work, study, etc. It is produced by Jesuits based in London and is available for free everyday.
Prayer as you go is available at their website or as a Podcast for your usual Podcast player.
Pop in some headphones and listen as you walk.
At our church we aim to introduce people to Jesus so that they will:
