Friday: The Church and the Nation

For these past seven days we have been praying together as a church. We have prayed for the different types of people that make up God’s family and that they would be helped by God to faithfully live out their Christian lives.

On this our last day we remember that without God we can do nothing and that with God nothing is impossible. Please keep praying for the church, please keep praying for the nation.

A long time ago a group of very wise people gathered and wrote a book called the Shorter Catechism which contained a series of questions on the Christian faith. The first question was: What is the chief purpose of mankind? The answer: Mankind’s purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

May you continue to know the enjoyment of God as you keep him a part of your life.

God of past, present and future, we seek direction

for the life of our Church and for ourselves,

and remember that all concerns and anxieties

should be placed within Your hand.

Where we have heard Your voice

may we step into the future that appears

with all the uncertainties and unknowns

to be explored.

Keep our eyes open to places of need,

and our ears open to the call

to new ways of being Your people.

Starting this Sunday…….
