Series 2 - other people

This set of cards is designed to help you look at different parts of your Christian faith. Take your time over each one. Pray as you think!

For this series, find a quiet place to contemplate these questions.

Who has been a help to you in your wider family either now or before? Spend some time     thanking God for bringing them into your life.

“Oh, thank GOD—he’s so good! His love never runs out.”
Psa 107:1

We all experience times where we really need to feel God with us. Who do you know that is going through this at the     moment?

Be determined and confident. Do not be afraid of them. Your God, the LORD himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”
Deu 31:6

Big decision should be taken carefully. For Christians that means asking God. What do you want God to help you decide?

“Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
Mat 7:7

Barnabas is known as an      encourager. Who have you helped and who has helped you?

And so encourage one another and help one another, just as you are now doing.
1Th 5:11

A cynical person one said, ‘friends come and go but     enemies accumulate’

Who do you need to forgive?

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” answered Jesus, “but      seventy times seven,
Mat 18:21-22

Chances come and chances go. Often we don’t see them until they have gone. Spend some time thinking and praying about any chances you might me    missing?

And now, why wait any longer? Get up and be baptized and have your sins washed away by praying to him.’
Act 22:16

Being busy is not the same as having an impact. Jesus told us to change the world. Where can you most impact the world through your church?

In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
Mat 5:16

God knows the good bits and the bad bits of our lives. Is there anything you should be telling him that you haven’t?

But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.
1Jn 1:9

“Everyone has hopes, it is part of being human. You may have brought your concerns to God, have you brought your hopes?

Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.
Rom 12:12

No man is an island as the    saying goes. Who has made an impact on your life over the years?

Keep company with the wise and you will become wise. If you make friends with stupid people, you will be ruined.
Pro 13:20

Not everyone remembers the good times yet most never forget the bad. Is there anything today you should be letting go?

(Php 3:13)

Is there a situation that needs a new point of view? Bring it to God.

What we see now is like a dim     image in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete—as complete as God’s knowledge of me.
1Co 13:12

Why keep a good thing to    yourself? Who could you talk to about your hope in Jesus? (hint: check your contacts)

But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer    anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you,
1Pe 3:15

Bringing our burdens to God is actually quite easy. We all like a good moan. The hard part is leaving them there!
