Edinburgh’s Homeless Young People – a poem

They have no need of our help, So do not tell me These haggard faces could belong to you or I Should life have dealt a different hand We need to see them for who they really are Chancers and scroungers Layabouts and loungers Cut-throats and thieves They are not Welcome here We should make them Go back to where they came from They cannot Share our food Share our homes Share our city Instead let us Build a wall to keep them out It is not okay to say These are people just like us A city should only belong to those who are born there Do not be so stupid to think that The wo...

Helping Bethany at Christmas

There will be an opportunity to donate money to our Bethany Shelter fund after the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. As a congregation we provide a wholesome, home cooked meal for around 60-70 homeless people during the winter months, as part of our involvement in the Bethany Winter Shelter programme. We are looking to raise enough funds to pay for two such meals during the remainder of the winter - our target is £400. Edinburgh’s Homeless Young People - a poem

Every day, take a few mins to read the passage and engage with the questions. You will find that as you travel with it you will gain deeper insights than a cursory reading would give. If you like to do these things on your own, find a nice quiet spot, if you like to be around people, why not meet with others over a coffee? There is ...
