Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Matthew 28: 9 – 10

Ever play Chinese whispers? Ever gossip and spread a rumour? Of course you have, everyone has! Try and imagine the Chinese whispers amongst those early believers. They didn’t have mobiles to send a WhatsApp of ‘He is Risen!, rather they met one another in the market, at the well, or in each other’s homes. Then to have that rumour confirmed by Jesus himself must have been exciting. It’s true, he really is here. What did Jesus tell them to do? Keep the rumour going, keep sharing the good news.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, these were exciting days, it is quite something seeing the early believers so enthused seeing Jesus. Help me today to be just as excited about my risen Lord as they were.

Action: Gossip Jesus to someone you meet today, keep the rumour ‘He is Risen!’ going.
