Sunday Morning Worship
Worship is held each Sunday morning at 10.30am and visitors are assured of a very warm welcome – in fact the service starts with a few minutes where everyone can wish others a good morning and introduce themselves.
Our worship style could be described as ‘informal contemporary’, with elements of ‘traditional’ thrown in for good measure.
We have a vibrant praise band to accompany our singing – including guitar, flute, violin, cello and electic organ. We also have a traditional pipe organ which is still used for some hymns.
We recognise the importance of getting to know each other and do this both during the ‘welcome’ and after services over tea and coffee. Everyone is welcome to help themselves to coffee before the service as well.
The running order is found in the Weekly Bulletin which is given to everyone when they arrive at church. If you are new we also have a leaflet on “life@Granton” with more information about what’s going on.
Feel free to sit anywhere within the congregation as there are no personalised seats. Toilets are located in the vestibule at the back of the church and also just through the door on the pulpit side of the church. Our style of worship includes both contemporary and traditional hymns and songs. Words are projected on the big screen so you won’t need any hymn books.
Children at the service
Children and babies are more than welcome to stay with their parents throughout the service. However there is a creche and there are activities for school age children. Parents are also welcome to use the sofas in the coffee area during the service.
Want to know more?
Should you wish more information on who we are and how we live out our calling to be the church in Granton, speak to any of our welcome team.
Prayer after the service
There are times when people need specific prayer for specific situations and do not wish to ask in the ‘prayers for others’.
Norman is available for anyone who wishes prayer after the service. Please sit down at the front if you would like this.
