The Swap Shop is now Share ‘n’ Wear

August sees a new name for the Granton Goes Greener Swap Shop.

The new name, Share ‘n’ Wear, makes it clearer that you don’t have to bring something in to swap – you can just take clothes for free to recycle and give a new home to.

Our strapline of “reduce | recycle | relove” focuses on our three key objectives: to reduce waste, to recycle as much as possible, and to show love and compassion to those around us.

Anna, our Community Engagement Officer, says “we have been getting lots of clothes donations during July, but we have also been receiving some random household items like bathroom and kitchen equipment including a portable food hot plate!”. So do pop in to the Share ‘n’ Wear area – you never know what you might find!

During July we received 561,6 kg of clothes and redistributed 252,13 kg of clothes – so the net gain is that we have a massive stock at the moment – another reason to pop in and have a look.
