May update on the Presbytery plan

Five representatives from Granton (Dan, Chas, Linda, Sandra C, Ian) met with Helen Hannan and Sandy Pratt (Session Clerks at Inverleith St Serf’s) on 9th May. The Session Clerks from Stockbridge had been invited but declined to attend.

Stockbridge have submitted a request for a review to Presbytery. If accepted, this is likely to take in the region of 3 months. If rejected, then Stockbridge will unite with ourselves and Inverleith St Serf’s.

There was consensus at the joint meeting that we can’t begin to work on a basis of Union until we have Stockbridge at the table or know the review outcome.

In the meantime, it was agreed that we will share the ‘comparable roles’ document and connect people doing similar jobs in respective churches. We will also arrange some joint social events.

More news as and when we have it.
