Christmas Hampers – the end of an era
For many years, the Christmas Hamper Draw has been an eagerly awaited event at Granton and has raised many thousands of pounds. Sadly, Barbara, Sylvia and Rose have decided that the Draw has run its course. We are most grateful for the time and energy that these wonderful ladies contributed to our Christmas. On 3rd December we shall be thanking them properly.
Today’s guest preacher
We are delighted to welcome Martin Pearce as our guest preacher today.
Martin has been a Church of Scotland Reader for over 20 years and regularly takes services of worship throughout Edinburgh and West Lothian. A Reader is a minister of the Word of God who provides locum support, pulpit supply, leads bible studies, and undertakes pastoral support wherever invited.
Martin retired in 2015 from BAE Systems/Marconi/Ferranti defence and aerospace manufacturing companies after 26 years employment as a business development manager. Before that, he had a 20-year career in the Royal Air Force. Martin is married with 3 adult children and has 5 grandchildren. He has lived in Edinburgh for 34 years and has enjoyed every minute of living, working, and serving God here.
