The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1: 14
God has come to the world in and through Jesus. Something that people have been waiting for has happened. This might not sound like the normal nativity that we have heard at Christmas, but still we celebrate and give thanks that God has come through Jesus and is dwelling among us. The term the Word is call back to God, who spoke and brought this world and what dwells on it into being. This is who has made his dwelling with us. We didn’t have to do anything or be anything for Jesus to dwell with us. He comes to us as we are and where we are. God has reminded us through this how much we are loved.
Prayer: Loving God, as we continue on in this new year, we look at the world around us, and we so deeply want hope and good news. You remind us in the gift that is your Son, who you sent to dwell among us, that we are so deeply loved by you. You come and live with us wherever we are. Help us to live into this grace and live into and share this love and grace with the world around us. Amen.
Action: Take time to remind yourself that you matter to God, and you are loved by God, just as you are.
