All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Matthew 11 : 27
It’s often said, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. When it comes to getting a job, finding an opportunity, or knowing which call to make, having the right friend can make all the difference.
Jesus asks us to be his friend, and it’s by being Jesus’s friend that we can have a relationship with God. On our own we wouldn’t know where to begin, God is infinite, all-powerful and beyond human understanding. But Jesus makes it simple: we don’t need to be morally perfect, spiritually wise or a genius, we just need to be friends of Jesus and through him we can come to God. The Christian faith is complex and there are many things to learn about and study, but in the end it all comes does to something very simple, friendship.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you that you have asked me to be your friend, and that through you I may know God more fully. I am grateful that instead of being up to me I can rely on your grace and open invitation.
Action: Remember to thank Jesus today.
