In the past couple of years it has become evident that the tactics of the fraudster are changing and no longer are they relying on the card reader device in the ATM’s, instead they are using the channels that make our lives easier: the internet, smart phones and doorstep deliveries.
Every year more than 3 million people in the UK fall victims to scams, losing hundreds, sometimes thousands of pounds. And this is only the tip of the iceberg as it is estimated that only 5% of scams are reported due to the victims feeling embarrassed at being caught out. It’s only through spotting the signs of scams and spreading the word as wide as possible that we can help to stop scams.
