This past year has brought diverse challenges, and many people are struggling with debt. The Salvation Army in Wardieburn Drive is providing a debt advice service here in Granton, along with other centres in Edinburgh and across the rest of the UK.
The confidential and free service involves establishing what income each client has, what their expenses are and the level of their debt. They then work with the client, negotiate with their creditors and agree a payment plan.
Adam Howie, Debt Advice Coordinator, says “we met clients typically at our Worship and Community Centre at 36 Wardieburn Drive, although with current COVID restrictions we have the facilities to do online or over the phone meetings with clients to ensure their safety”.
